YA Winter Retreat Speaker

Aisling (“Ashling”) Zweigle is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene. She now serves as Family Life Pastor for Tenth Church, a multi-site congregation in Vancouver, British Columbia with the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Canada. She has served as Children’s Pastor in Idaho, as Children & Families Pastor in BC and as an Early Childhood Educator with children from around the world. Aisling’s also served as a missionary and child advocate overseas in Manila, Philippines.

Before living in Asia and in Canada, Aisling served in churches and non-profit organizations in Seattle, Washington and Kansas City, Missouri. She is certified in Early Childhood Education, has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from MidAmerica Nazarene University, a graduate diploma in Cross Cultural Ministries from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and a Master of Arts in Religious Education, with an emphasis in Holistic Child Development, from Asia-Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary.

As an undergraduate, Aisling studied psychology & fine arts with a particular interest in how the arts can connect with kids experiencing trauma. As a graduate student in Asia, Aisling carried out original grounded theory research in a dynamic orphanage. Using observation, art, and interviews, she explored the potential for “the growth of love.” Her research themes included attachment, cultural context and trauma-informed-care.

Aisling is mom to two awesome grown boys, who graduated from NNU. She is wife to Dr. Grant Zweigle, who serves as training coordinator for Global Mission with the Church of the Nazarene. Aisling is an avid long-distance runner and devoted coffee drinker.
